个人简历(RESUME)

Ray Pine教授( 博士)自1987年起一直在香港理工大学任教,现为酒店与旅游管理系教授。在香港先后获酒店管理和旅游管理学士学位,并获酒店和旅游管理专业理学学士学位。1997-2000年任系主任期间,负责全面考察并重新设置酒店及旅游管理系的全部课程。

他获得的学历资格包括:Huddersfield大学公众餐饮业研究BSC学位、国家学术奖委员会公众餐饮技术哲学硕士、英国Bradford大学酒店业技术传播哲学博士。他同时还是美国酒店与汽车旅馆协会教育学院的资深专业教师。

Ray Pine博士的学术研究课题包括酒店与旅游战略管理、领导权、变革管理等。他拥有多种专业会员资格,是酒店与餐饮业国际管理协会资格最老的会员,也是食品科学技术研究院成员。其研究领域广泛,最近主要研究中国酒店业的各个方面。他还担任了包括《国际酒店管理期刊》在内的五个刊物的编委,并任《当代酒店管理国际期刊》、及《世界酒店与旅游业发展趋势》电子期刊的地区主编。除出版了三本著作及四本书的主要章节外,他还在各类期刊、学术会议和其它出版物上发表了50余篇论文和学术报告.

Brief Biography - Dr. Ray Pine

Ray Pine is a Professor in the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University where he has worked since 1987. He first went to Hong Kong to develop and get validated the first hotel management degree in Hong Kong, and subsequently lead the development of another degree in Tourism Management as well as MSc programmes in Hotel and Tourism Management. As Head of Department from 1997 to 2000 he was responsible for the complete review and restructuring of all programmes offered in the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management.

His educational qualifications include a BSc in Catering Studies from the University of Huddersfield, an MPhil in Catering Technology from the Council for National Academic Awards and his PhD in Technology Transfer in the Hotel Industry from Bradford University in the UK. He is also a Certified Hospitality Educator under the Educational Institute of the American Hotel & Motel Association.

His specialist subjects are strategic management in the hotel and tourism industry, leadership and management of change. He has many professional affiliations, the oldest ones being a fellow of the Hotel and Catering International Management Association and a member of the Institute of Food Science and Technology. He has done wide ranging research, more recently specializing in various aspects of the hotel industry in China. He serves on editorial boards of five journals, including International Journal of Hospitality Management, and is a regional editor for the International Journal of Contemporary Hospitality Management and the electronic journal Worldwide Hospitality and Tourism Trends. In addition to three books and four book chapters, he has authored or co-authored over 50 pieces of work in journals, conference proceedings and other publications.
