Daniel Tannenbaum is Vice President Sales & Marketing Accor China based in Shanghai with responsibility for the current 28 properties plus a further 17 in development in Greater China. In addition to the domestic hotels, he has responsibility for outbound international sales to Accor’s network of over 4000 hotels under the Sofitel, Novotel, Mercure and Ibis brands. An American from Syracuse New York he is a graduate of Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts.
Tannenbaum has worked for Accor for 10 years starting as the DOSM of Novotel Auckland & Regional DOSM of New Zealand. Later he was DOSM of Sofitel Melbourne and Regional DOSM Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. Recently he opened Accor’s flagship Sofitel Chicago Water Tower in downtown Chicago, Illinois, USA. With over 20 years experience in hotels having worked in China, Australia, New Zealand, and USA and with 15 years in sales & marketing both at property and regional level, he is acutely aware of the challenges of launching new properties in a variety of market situations. Having worked all segments of the hotel business he believes in a strong local sales operation focused on direct sales activity supported by a strong regional brand, distribution and key account system that drives national and global customers.
